Me: Riley, why don't you ask your Nana to teach you how to knit while she is here?
Riley: Oh that's a good idea, because only 1000 year old grandmas know how to knit.

Our Trick or Treat House
Tomorrow night is the annual Trick or Treat at the girls school. I volunteered to build one of the houses this year. My friend Danielle helped me and I think we make a great team. We vow to give those stay at home moms a run for their money next year. (since they had so much time to build a zoo cage and a full pirate ship with a mast)

Controversial ? of the Day
I keep hearing voters say that they are not worried about the tax on incomes over $250,000 because they fall below the line. My question of the day is:
How will you feel when your employer can no longer employ you because he is affected by the new tax?

Deep Enough?
All Dressed Up and We Had a Place to Go!
This past Sunday, Tim and I went to the wedding of a colleague of his. It was held at Los Patios. We had never heard of the place before, but it was a really cool place with shops too!
This is a picture of the entry to the shops and party rental areas.

Here are Tim and I at the wedding dinner. Since the groom is Cuban we had Cuban cuisine. I tried fried plantains. Never again.

This is the little black dress I found at Marshalls.

Tim ...

I did not know that Tim took this pic of me dancing. I kept sliding on the tile in my heels, so I kicked them off.

Here are the bride and groom, Candice and Mike.

This is Becton singing, "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Tim took this pic of one of the facades of the building.

Lassie?
This morning I thought Lassie had embodied our new dog Oliver.
My enlightenment came this morning when I opted to take a shower first instead of getting the girls up. In the midst of rinsing the shampoo from my hair I look up and see Riley walk into the bathroom.
Me: Hey, you got up by yourself and early too. That's great!
Riley: I didn't, Oliver came and woke me up. He jumped up on my bed and made me get up.
Wow! I hit the lotto! I have Lassie in Schnauzer form, I thought. I spoke too soon. Five minutes later I hear Natalie call down.
Natalie: Mommy, I think Oliver peed on my toy box, the floor is wet.
I went to investigate... sure enough there was a huge puddle of pee. Not all Oliver's fault, I thought Tim had let him out before leaving this morning so I did not let him out first thing, hence the puddle of pee.
Darn it! Lassie wouldn't pee in the house. I was so close.

Oktoberfest
This Saturday we went to Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg. Tim experimented with trying on his Liederthingy (that German costume stuff). He struggled at first with a lot of sucking in...

Here he is in his full get up and yes he made it into his costume!

Here we are with the Mehrens, I am sitting with Amy(in the green), and the girls are Riley, Madi, Natalie, and Joci.

Here they are sporting their "Tag Your Tot" stickers. This is one of the reasons I love this festival over others...it is kid friendly/family friendly.

Tim had a great time playing tag...

Here are pics of the girls on the bouncy slide. They literally bounced down the slide.

Hence the flying hair...

This was a great parent friendly ride. $1 for 6 minutes. To quote the guy working the ride,"Okay parents you have 6 minutes to get a beer!"

Tim showed off his big guns trying to ring the bell. He got all the way up to 19 (one below the bell) but came up short.

These are the girls with a man Mark works with at Boeing.

Here are Mark and Tim and the girls in front of a giant German Flag.

And the Big Finally, after a 2 hour wait... Face Painting! Riley wanted a classical Tiger face.

Natalie acted as if she was getting a facial. We thought she fell asleep.

Tada! Butterfly Girl!

Here are all the girls with their faces finished and beautiful.

Overall we had a great day!
