Handy Man Tim

Here is my Supreme Handyman... He is showing off his "Bob the Builder" pose. Can he build it? Yes he can! Tim is putting in a loft in our garage for additional storage. He has been working on it for several days.

First everything had to come out of the garage.

Then supports had to be put in.

on both sides.

Then he put the brackets in...

Built a beam across the center.

Braced it in the middle.

and the rest will be done later.... more to come.

BLUEBONNETS

I found this little patch of bluebonnets a block from our house. So after dinner the girls and I went for a walk and took a few pics.

I call this one "pouting."

The sun was in her eyes.

Easter McGovern Style

We strung our Easter Celebrations out over the weekend. Saturday we started by preparing the eggs for dying. We did some hard boiled and some we blew out. Below I have pics of Tim blowing an egg. You can see how excited he is...

It's a lot harder than he thought, notice how his shirt is matching his face in color.

a little harder and it pays off.

Natalie was impressed. Please note the smear of chocolate on her face- something you will notice in many of the upcoming pictures. We would clean that puss and it would be covered in candy or chocolate before we could blink.

Here are the girls with their treats from the Easter Bunny this morning. As you can see they just got out of the shower and Natalie is starting to dress herself, hence the well coordinated outfit. Riley preferred her chocolate bunny while Natalie was impressed by her Hanna Montana phone.

Really impressed by her Hanna Montana phone.

Later that day, I took the hordes of candy and stashed them up high... so I thought. Then I heard giggling behind me....

"We couldn't help it Mommy, its so yummy!"

Yes, I put the dying of the eggs off until today... I needed something to get their minds off all the candy!

This was a cool thing I found at Walmart. It is a spring holder that hold the eggs while the girls decorated them with these cool swab colors.

Here is a picture of our inaugural McGovern Easter Egg Hunt. Tim instructed the girls of how this is a new tradition and due to the high winds outside, this years egg hunt would be held indoors. Only the first floor of the house. I got a little into stuffing the plastic eggs... 67 of them.

Tim got quite clever with his hiding places.

The girls were flying around the house. Riley is a mere blurr here.

Counting the loot...

"Daddy, this one has piglet on it."

And everyone collapsed as Natalie complained of a tummy ache from all the candy she ate (yes, I kept taking it from her she just kept finding eggs), and Riley went to bed asking if yes indeed we really had to go back to school and was spring break really over?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone and may you be blessed in the outpouring of His Love this day! Hallelujah!! He is Risen In Deed!!!

Tim's New Ride

With the rising cost of gas, $100 a week, Tim faced the fact that he need a more "green" friendly means of transportation. So.... we traded in the Tahoe. But now we get 30 miles to the gallon as oppossed to 16 miles to the gallon.

Yes there was a sad parting of ways, Tim loved his Tahoe. But now he has a Newport Blue Forrester.

Why I haven't Blogged In So Long!

I know, I know... I have not been good about blogging. The main reason being that I have been working on getting a new firewall installed and lets just leave it at that on that topic. Additionally, from the time Tim left for Russia until today I have been on the go.

Below you will see pictures from the girls field trip to Fiesta Farms, the sign from the place where my car was repaired following my accident on the 15th of February, Angie's visit, pics of my mom with the girls, Natalie's birthday cake and of course pictures of Natalie following her big ride in the ambulance.

Here is Riley holding a baby goat. This little thing would only let Riley hold it.

Natalie (one with the braid) is checking out the chicken. Almost all of my pictures of her are from the back that day. She was too busy checking everything out.

Here is a picture of the sign outside of the body shop that did the work on my bumper after I was rear ended. Please not the additional signage below- it is also a rattlesnake ranch!

Here is Riley after a long day. She fell asleep on the way home.

More pics of Riley at Fiesta Farms. She says she wants to be a Dr. I think VET is more like it.

Oh, and she also wants to learn to barrel race. If you know anyone who teaches western riding let me know.

Oh, this would be the only picture I have of Natalie that day from the front...waving good bye as she goes on a hayride.

Here are Riley and Doodie in their new cowgirl jeans.

Angie came to visit the last weekend in February. A long needed visit too! I miss her so much.

We took Ang to Mi Tierra's for good Mexican Food and true atmosphere.

Of course you can't forget to go down the Riverwalk while in San Antonio!

Natalie wanted an elephant birthday. Cari graciously made her an elephant cake for her birthday party. She does awesome work!

And last, but not least... Here is Nat showing her vital signs sticker thingy that she had left on her from our trip to the ER when she had the croup so bad she couldn't breath.

Last but not least, our two spa buddies. Nat and Doodie.

Have we been busy or what?
